The Pocock Eight
This project was a lot of fun. We received a phone call from an insurance company that had recently became an owner of a 2012/2013 Pocock Eight that was damaged while being transported.
We had to find a way to get it to the shop. Luckily we worked with a transportation company in the North to ship the boat down to us. We put it on the left side of the shop and started working right away. Sandy made sure to let everyone know how hard it was!
The shell sat and sat and sat….our shop continued to get busy so we had to prioritize other teams in order to keep things up to speed. Unfortunately, that meant this beautiful shell would sit.
Interior was damaged at stroke seat and stroke. We had to completely rebuild the entire cockpit. In addition to the interior rebuild, we had to reshape and form the stern section. Luckily Pocock is a great company to work with. They provided us all the right materials and paint codes we needed.
The end result? A VERY happy team in the Mid Atlantic. We were upfront with them about the damaged and came to an agreement with the price.
We are hoping we will see this boat compete this spring and win some races!
